Redefine Values
They say depression is researched far more than happiness and that happiness is best linked to social relationships. Some ways to regain happiness is to allow yourself time to mourn loss, accept feelings, grieve, keep to a routine, establish healthy behaviors, eat better, implement adequate sleeping routines, partake in leisure activities, and maintain career stability. It’s important to talk about challenges. Find your people whether it be a support group that works for you or someone that is encouraging when you feel pain and suffering. When working through big emotions, maintain self-control, build up your self-esteem, scaffold to reach dreams, do something fun, find joy, be flexible, and most importantly redefine what is of value and purpose. Provide encouragement and be uplifting. Talk about bravery, peace, and empowerment.
Setting boundaries within a therapeutic relationship often involves clarifying roles and expectations yet still showing that you care. Seek to provide input, be informative, likable, dependable, compromise, collaborate and motivate others, Provide solution-focused problem solving, celebrate successes, admit mistakes, and recognize efforts (Taylor et. al., 2019).
